As Bart Simpson would say, what a craptacular weekend. Let me explain.

Friday started with the normal meeting of our guest, packing out the Meanie trailer and getting on the road to HPT. HPT is one of our favorite tracks, but is out in Topeka Ks. Traveling with us this time is James and Ty. James has been with us before; Ty is the new guy on the trip. Both of them in I group.

About 10 miles north of KC, my Brother Dave's truck decides to make some strange noises. Not good. We stop. We know it's the transmission. We're still an hour plus away from the track, what to do. We limp in. I phone Greg K (the best PB ever) and ask for some help. He texted me a lot of info, on place to get the truck fixed in Topeka. I phone Aamco, and talk to the owner at 6:30 pm on a Friday night. The truck has a 9 am appt.. We arrived HPT at 7:30 pm to find the Larsons had beaten us to the track. Dave Frick arrived a short time later, so there we were, two big haulers and our little F350 and 24 ft trailer. A few more guys came in, but we could tell it was going to be a light weekend.

Saturday morning brought the normal sign in and go. Dave hung out for a while before taking the truck down to Aamco. At lunch time I barrowed a car from Phillip, and picked Dave up. He just hung out the rest of day taking pictures.

As a group we rode awesome, not a single red flag on the track. The Big Meanie crew was doing well. Neither James or Ty had been to HPT before, both had some off track time, but nobody put a bike down. The SV was running strong, and I was feeling good. Switched out to the slicks, OMG I love Pirelli slicks.

Sunday is when my weekend went bad. On the second session I found out the hard way that it is possible to high side an SV. T2 is a very fast section of track. Knee on the deck, and the tail spun out. What did I see, sky, grass, sky, grass, sky grass. I tumbled out onto the grass. My flight ended with me on my back and my feet pointing towards the track, well one was not. It was lying there sideways.....my first ever ambulance ride. I'm now the proud new owner of two metal plates, and a bunch of self tapping screws. I was released from the Topeka hospital on Monday around noon.

The truck was a different story. I'll let my brother do a write up on his truck. We got the truck back on Tuesday at 5:30 pm. Rushed to return the rental car by 6. Spent Tuesday night in the hotel. Picked up the trailer at HPT at 8:30. Wednesday morning, and Dave drove my doped up butt home.
